CAL TASSINARI SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

2007-08 Season
The Cal Tassinari Scholarship Fund was established with the passing of Cal Tassaneri, the sole foundational
pillar of avalanche education in Northwest Montana. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to support winter
enthusiasts and professionals pursing upper level avalanche education. Anyone interested in gaining more avalanche
education may apply for this scholarship.
Amount of Scholarship
Scholarship money awarded will cover no more than half the course cost with $600 being the maximum amount
awarded per applicant. Applicants may apply for one course per season. Scholarships awarded will be limited to
direct course costs (tuition and books).
Deadline: Must be recieved by December 31, 2007.
Scholarship will be awarded by the second week of January.
Parameters on which applicants will be reviewed:
geographic location (applicants must live in Flathead, Lake, or Lincoln counties)
course prerequisites met
community involvement
rescue or patrol organization affiliation
Recipients of this scholarship are asked to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours to the Glacier Country
Avalanche Center
